Help me with…

Denture pain or a broken denture

Sore spots, a loose fit or a cracked plate make dentures miserable to wear. Most problems are fixed in one visit.

What it can mean

Dentures rub and hurt when they no longer fit the gums — which shrink and change shape over time — or when a rough or high spot presses on one area. A loose lower denture is especially common as the jawbone slowly resorbs. Cracks and breaks usually happen when a denture is dropped or has become brittle with age.

Don't try to repair a broken denture with household glue — it damages the acrylic and makes a proper repair harder. Bring all the pieces to us. Sore spots are adjusted in minutes; a loose denture can be relined to fit again; and if it's loose because of bone loss, two implants can anchor it permanently.

How we can help

  • Adjust sore spots and pressure points, usually the same visit
  • Repairs and relines — often within a day or two
  • New dentures, or implant-retained dentures that stay put

Frequently asked questions

Simple repairs and relines are typically $150–$350. We'll confirm the cost when we see the denture, before doing anything.
