Dentures are affordable and fast. Implants are permanent and feel like your own teeth. And there's a middle path most people haven't heard of.
When several teeth — or all of them — are missing, the conversation usually comes down to dentures or implants. Neither is 'right' for everyone. Here's how they compare on the things that matter day to day, and the hybrid option that gives many patients the best of both.
Dentures
Removable dentures are the most affordable way to replace many teeth — a partial denture is typically $1,200–$2,500 on the Gold Coast and a full denture $2,000–$4,000 — and they can be made in a few weeks with no surgery. The trade-offs: they can move when you eat or talk, they cover the palate or gums, chewing power is lower, and because the bone underneath keeps shrinking they need relining and eventually remaking.
Implants
Implant-supported teeth are fixed, feel and function like natural teeth, and preserve the jawbone. A full arch on four to six implants is a significant investment — typically from $15,000–$25,000 upwards — and takes several months, but it's a once-in-a-lifetime solution for most patients. Individual implants for a few missing teeth are $3,500–$6,500 each.
The middle path: implant-retained dentures
Two implants in the lower jaw with a denture that clips onto them transforms the experience of wearing dentures — no movement, confident chewing, no adhesive — at a fraction of the cost of a full fixed arch. For many patients frustrated with a loose lower denture, this is the answer. Because our implant surgery is done in-house, you get one team and one quote. Book a consultation and we'll lay out all three options against your X-rays and your budget.
